Arsenal fans who are not familiar with Major League Soccer would have been taking to YouTube and Google yesterday after reports claimed the Gunners are set to open talks to sign Orlando City’s Facundo Torres.
The 22-year-old winger has established himself as one of the most exciting young talents in the States after enjoying an impressive season, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists across 33 league appearances. Torres also bagged four goals and set up a further two in the US Open Cup, a competition he helped his side win.
If you watched Arsenal in action against Orlando during pre-season, then Torres’ name may ring a bell. That’s because he actually scored against the Gunners, beating Aaron Ramsdale with a fine finish into the bottom corner.
