Award winning Scandinavian inspired home on exclusive road for sale

An award-winning property has come on the market in Merseyside, in one of the region's most expensive areas.

The five-bedroom detached house is on Shireburn Road, in Freshfield, nicknamed Millionaires' Row. The street regularly features on the Land Registry as having the most expensive property sales, thanks to the amount of exclusive homes on the road.

Jurgen Klopp, Wayne Rooney, John Parrott and Brendan Rodgers have all lived in the area over the years due to the private tree-lined roads. Built in 2015, this Shireburn Road home is described as ‘architecturally inspiring’ and features subtle Scandinavian designs.

The home has been nominated for many construction awards, including architecture categories at the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) awards. Commenting on the development, the RIBA jury said: “The resultant villa is essentially modernist, but with subtle undertones of Scandinavia with an uncanny sense of ‘home’ provided by the client within an architecturally geometric framework.”

According to Stephanie Macnab estate agents, who listed the property, the judges went on to say the home was “an elegant and flowing house of generous proportions that is unexpectedly unpretentious.”

Shedkm architects designed the home, in collaboration with the current owners, who describe it as a “house for an art lover.” Images on Rightmove show the property from the outside and offer a glimpse into the kitchen area through floor to ceiling windows.

With the price not disclosed, it’s unclear exactly how much the property is expected to sell for. However, similar sized homes within a mile radius of the Shireburn road home are listed for a variety of prices.

A five bedroom detached house, on the same road, is priced at £3,500,000 and another is on the market for over the million pound mark on Argarmeols Road for £1,250,000. Other homes under the million price range include a £950,000 property on Victoria Road, £550,000 on Ennerdale Road and £420,000 on Springfield Close.

Overall, properties had an average sold price of £491,062 over the last year in Freshfield, according to Rightmove. Most of those sales were detached properties, selling for an average price of £638,972.

However semi-detached properties sold for an average of £306,128, with flats fetching £219,500. Sold prices in Freshfield over the last year were 14% up on the previous year and 16% up on the 2018 peak of £425,159.

The Stephanie Macnab listing reads: “Seldom does a property of such quality, style and imagination come to the market, and we are absolutely delighted to have been selected to showcase this award-winning property.

“As you approach the property via the private, tree-lined road, you will arrive at the secluded gated plot and glimpse the Iroko clad upper floors, which are in contrast to the stone garden wall, softened with carefully considered planting.

“Once within these walls, you will be struck by the generous driveway and beautifully landscaped gardens surrounding the property, lending an air of tranquillity and privacy.” View more images and information about the property on Rightmove here.
