Award winning Indian restaurant announces plan for new venue as Ayrshire expansion delights customers

Bosses at an award winning Indian restaurant have revealed plans to expand in Ayrshire.

Fresh from being crowned one of Scotland's best curry houses, 3idiots have agreed to open a second premises in Troon.

After their Ayr eaterie took the title of Outstanding Restaurant of the Year at the Curry Awards earlier this month, the Indian tapas specialists are now set to take over the Swan restaurant on Portland Street.

A post on their Facebook page reads: "3idiots are coming to Troon!

"After many, many, many requests from our Troon customers, we managed to find the perfect place for the next 3idiots — 39 Portland Street, Troon, KA10 6AA.

"Once again, a huge thank you to all of our customers for making our expansion a possibility — without your support this wouldn’t be possible"

Co-owners Guri Gurchet Singh, 31, from Kilmarnock and Parveen Sharma, 47, from Stewarton are the two men behind the successful business.

Speaking to Ayrshire Live earlier this month, Guri told how foodies from across the country had flocked to Ayr to try their food.

He said: “Everything we do is authentic and fresh, we don’t add anything colouring to the food which are bad for you.

“It is cooked like our mum’s would make it, if you came into our home this is the kind of food you would get.

“We have a really small menu – people love things like the chilli chicken or the classic tikka masala.

“We’ve had people from Birmingham come up to try our food, we’ve even had people from America call us asking if they can buy a gift voucher.”

The expansion news was greeted with a lot of excitement from foodies in the region.

One wrote: "Brilliant. Cannot wait to try your gorgeous food."

Another said: "So amazing. My dream come true. Troon will love having such amazing food."
