Ava White's mum revealed the story behind a picture of Ava on her hoodie.
The 12-year-old was murdered in Liverpool city centre on November 25, 2021. She was stabbed in the neck by 'Boy A', who was then aged 14 and cannot be named for legal reasons, after an argument about him filming her on Snapchat.
Having been convicted of murder in May, Boy A was locked up for a minimum of 13 years on Monday (July 11) at Liverpool Crown Court.

After the sentencing, Merseyside Police released a video of Leanne White - Ava's mum - who spoke about the impact of losing her daughter. Dressed in a blue hoodie with a photo of Ava on the front and "My angel" written above it, Leanne said that her family has been unable to celebrate anything since Ava's murder, saying: " it’s just too painful and hurtful without Ava".
However, she added: " Ava’s memories will always be alive in my family. She’s everywhere in my house, she’s everywhere with me and there’s not one conversation I have that Ava’s not involved in."
In the video, Leanne also explained the story behind the selfie of Ava - which features the caption "Best daughter ever xx" - on the front of her hoodie. She said: " I’d like to just tell you a little bit about this photo as well. She loved taking photos and she loved taking my phone and taking selfies and leaving me them.
"This necklace that I’ve got is Ava’s fingerprint, so I can always have her close to me and feel her."
