Members of Ava White's family cried as footage of the moment she was stabbed was today played in court.
Ava, 12, died after she was knifed in Liverpool city centre. A 14-year-old boy denies the schoolgirl's murder and manslaughter. Boy A, from South Liverpool, cannot be named for legal reasons.
Liverpool Crown Court has heard Boy A pulled out a "flick knife" and stabbed Ava in the neck, before he allegedly smirked, laughed and ran away, then began a "cover up" by discarding his blade, designer coat and mobile phone. The prosecution say Boy A accepts responsibility for the stabbing, but states he acted in self-defence
