Ava White's family pay tribute to 'beautiful angel' who will be 'forever 12'

Ava White's heartbroken friends and family have paid tribute to their "beautiful angel" who will be "forever 12."

Tomorrow marks one year since the schoolgirl was murdered after she attended a Christmas light switch on in Liverpool city centre on November 25. The 12-year-old was stabbed in the neck by 'Boy A', who was then aged 14 and cannot be named for legal reasons, after an argument about him filming her on Snapchat.

Ahead of the anniversary of Ava's death, a series of tributes have been left at the scene on Church Street in Liverpool city centre. They include a floral memorial in the shape of a butterfly, which was attached to a tree on Church Street, along with a message from her "brokenhearted dad", grandparents and other family members.

The loving message said "we love you all the world" and added that Ava will be "forever 12." A photograph of Ava was also attached to the tree beside a series of trinkets that spell out her name.

A love heart paid tribute to "our beautiful angel", while another message said "we miss you always and forever".

In an interview last month, Ava's older sister Mia White, 19, paid tribute to her "funny" and "loving" sister. Mia told the BBC: " Ava was funny, she was loving, she was caring, she was kind. She was just how every child is at 12.

"Ava was just like a little light that never ever dimmed down."

Mia described her close bond with Ava, who was her "shadow." She said: "Me and Ava were really close. We told each other everything.

"Every night we'd be in each other's rooms until we went to bed. We'd just sit on the phone to our mates and sit there and laugh, take pictures, listen to music, just how normal teenage sisters are.

"She was like my shadow, I used to bring her everywhere with me."
