Though this is far from a new trend, of course. Cast your mind back to around 2012 and you probably had your own colour wheel of different jean shades to choose from. The bolder, the better.
Red, in particular, has already taken off, spotted on some of the most fashionable women on the internet. And it's easy to see the appeal: all the comfort of a classic jean, with the added benefit of being instantly eye-catching. With no shortage of shades to pick from, which one you choose comes down purely to personal preference.

Denim, Meet Ruffles
Rather than rigid, linear pattern cutting, Autumn/Winter '26 puts femininity in full focus for denim. From flippy peplums to ruffled skirts, the humble fabric is being used in ways that are full, voluptuous and soft.
This is a trend that surprisingly endures. Liberowe's peplum denim jacket and Marques'Almeida's signature ruffled denim are not new and yet still entirely current.

Super Straight and Super Dark
"Can you wear jeans to the office?" is the question behind every somewhat strict workwear dress code—and this season, the answer is a resounding yes. So long as you opt for the smartest of cuts: the super-straight. Bonus points if you can iron a crisp fold down the front.
While barrel and wide-leg cuts may have taken centre stage for the past few seasons, Khaite, Calvin Klein and Balenciaga are putting this more formal slim-leg faithful back in the spotlight. Suddenly, every outfit feels that bit more sophisticated, especially in a dark wash.

If the term denim dress conjures up images of short smocks and dungaree-like designs, the Autumn/Winter runways are here to challenge those ultra-casual characteristics, stretching the confines of just how far denim can go. Hands up, who has embellished jeans already sitting at the back of the wardrobe? Possibly piled on top of a silver pair that were equally popular around the same time. I certainly do. So you'll be pleased to know they're already poised for a quick comeback, all thanks to Jonathan Anderson and Stella McCartney.
