Automobilista 2 V1.6.9.2 Released Today - Details and Patch Notes

Reiza Studios has released patch 1.6.9.2 for Automobilista 2 focusing on performance fixes and continued AI improvements following the 1.6.9 update.

Players who noticed a performance drop may be affected by the newly added option to combine Supersampling AA with TAA, which in some cases was not properly reset in existing profiles. Reiza recommends TAA users experiencing a significant slowdown check the performance settings and confirm Supersampling is turned off. The patch includes further refinements to TAA, with better application on vehicles, reduced shadow flickering, improved fence stability and less ghosting on gratings.

AI updates continue as well, especially for oval racing. Improvements to racecraft and performance apply to Stock USA content along with F-USA cars and other tin-top classes with oval variants. Reiza noted that only select classes currently feature dedicated oval physics and AI tuning with other classes still playable on ovals but offering a less refined experience.

Multiclass AI behavior under blue flags has been adjusted to prevent slower classes from overreacting and slowing excessively, making races flow more naturally. In addition, AI pit lane logic has been improved, reducing issues with cars hitting objects, losing control or getting stuck when exiting garages and navigating pit lanes.   • TAA: Fixed TAA not applying to vehicles properly; Reduced ghosting behind vehicles in chase camera view, Improved stability and clarity of fences, Reduced thin object flickering, Fixed TAA relaxing prematurely with fast camera movement in VR leading to flickering and aliasing; slightly improved clarity, further reduced instances of shadow flickering; fixed dark objects such as windscreen wipers moving against a bright background causing visual stains with TAA enabled
  • Player auto-fuelling function disabled only for practice and qualifying sessions (original auto-calculated fuelling for race sessions persists)
  • TrueForce device no longer spins or moves in uncontrolled way when first editing setup in Test Day

UI & HUD

  • Fixed HUD pit stop timers not displaying when using beta HUD
  • Substitute text “Formula” for “F-” for all short name display formats

PHYSICS

  • Further minor tire tread adjustments to P1 (both gens), Ligier P4, Copa Classics, Copa Uno, Mini JCW, F-USA 2023, F-USA Gen1-3, F-Retro Gen3, F-Classic Gen1, F-Classic Gen2, F-HiTech Gen2, F-3, F-Junior, Lotus 23, Group A, Group C
  • Revised engine inertia & crankshaft values for F-Classics / F-Hitechs, correcting some minor inconsistencies & fixing bug with HiTech G1M3
  • Stock USA Gen2: Increased radiator cooling
  • Aston Martin Valkyrie: Fixed KERS not deploying longer than 1s

AI

  • Adjusted blue flag behavior for LMP2 (both gens), LMP2 2005, P2, P3, P4, GT1, GT1 2005, GTR, GT2 2005, GTE, GT3 (both), GT Open, GT4, Porsche Cup, Lambo Supertrofeo (both), G55 Supercup, F-USAs, Stock USAs, Copa Classics, Vintage TCs & all oval variants so AI drivers do not slow down to let lapping cars through in races
  • AI cars lapping slower traffic now conform to dynamic corridors in tracks with greater dynamic ranges
  • Adjusted AI throttle application to be smoother when leaving garage
  • Fixed AI hitting fences ahead of their garage boxes when leaving the garage in tracks with alternate garages
  • Spielberg Historic: Tweak the garage orientation to help some cars navigate the pit lane extension
  • Daytona Oval: Further adjusted AI performance around the whole track
  • Pocono Oval: Further adjustes corridors around T3 to prevent AI from hitting grass on the inside
  • Calibrated AI simulated practice / qualifying times for Stock USA Gen1-3
  • AI traction & braking calibration adjustments for GTE & GT3 (both gens)
  • AI wet calibration pass for Stock USA Gen1-3, GT4, GT5, Caterhams
  • AI calibration pass for F-Classic Gen1, F-Junior, F-USA Gen1-3, F-USA 2023, Mini JCW, P1 Gen1, P2, Stock USA Gen2 & Gen3 Oval variants

TRACKS

  • Barcelona: Fixed z-fighting issues with building near T4
  • Kyalami Historic: Fixed glitch with animated crowds
  • Spielberg Historic: Reworked the garage door open / closed object AO

VEHICLES

  • Livery overrides: Fixed Stock USA G1 and G2 showing a red hood when using paint materials.
  • Stock USA Gen1: Fixed car body shadows not been cast on Speed Way variant
  • Stock USA Gen3 export update: fixed wrong rain lights on LODB and LODC, smaller lightglows polygons
  • Stock USA Gen3 LM: Adjusted fuel value size on display
  • Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo: Fixed white-looking lower LOD issue
  • Ginetta GT4 & Supercup: Removed gear stick and added shift paddles & corrected shift type animation
  • Ginetta G40 Cup: Corrected tire tread texture to slick
  • Aston Martin Valkyrie: Adjusted cockpit POV and driver animations
  • Porsche 996 GT3 RSR: Adjusted cockpit POV and driver animations to be centered to the steering wheel
  • Further adjusted thresholds for undetray sparks for F-Classics, F-HiTechs
