An autistic teenager was left “extremely distressed” after being convicted of not insuring a moped given to him as a Christmas present which he had never ridden.

The 17-year-old faced a prosecution from the DVLA for not paying for insurance for the 50cc Teyin moped as it sat unused in the garage.
