Australian shares edge higher for sixth day of gains

The Australian share market has started the month on a positive note and held on to its multi-day winning streak. 

The S&P/ASX200 overcame an early dip to rise 19.4 points, or 0.24 per cent to 8145.6, as the broader All Ordinaries gained 24.7 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 8365.7.
