While the headlines in the lead-up to the event may have centered around a certain Serbian player in the men’s draw, the 18-year-old Raducanu will likely still draw many eyeballs when she takes to the court on Tuesday.
Having recently suffered with a bout of Covid-19 and a patchy run of form since winning her first Grand Slam at the Arthur Ashe stadium in September, it’s hard to know what to expect of Raducanu as she seeks to play in only her third event at this level.
One thing that is for sure is that there will be tons of Brits cheering her on from all over the world when she takes to the court.

The timing may change depending on how long the games before them take. The 18-year-old Brit is last up on the Margaret Court arena against the unseeded American, but is likely to face a strong challenge against a fellow former Grand Slam champion.
Who is Sloane Stephens?
Sloane Stephens comes into this tournament unseeded after dropping down the rankings in recent years, but with a career high ranking of No3 in the world and also with a US Open title win under her belt in 2017, will likely prove a formidable opponent for the young Brit.
The 28-year-old American has not quite delivered on the promise she showed earlier in her career, but has much more experience at this level which she will be able to draw upon on Tuesday.
