Fifty leaders from some of Australia's biggest companies have pulled together some practical advice for other chiefs hoping to cut greenhouse gas emissions from their business operations.
The resource "written by CEOs for CEOs" has been released ahead of the COP28 climate summit, which is due to start in Dubai on Thursday.
The tool, which recommends investing in the right technical and leadership recruits among other suggestions for credibly acting on the climate challenge, is the work of the Climate Leaders Coalition.
The group of chief executive officers from across the Australian business community all support the Paris Agreement and use the forum to frankly share the challenges involved with decarbonisation.
Co-chair of the group, David Thodey, said resource offered a practical framework for the development of a credible climate transition plan.
"It comes at a time when organisations are facing increased regulatory and mandatory disclosure requirements, which is why we are seeing accelerated demand for such insight," he said.
Mr Thodey said said each organisation would follow its own unique journey to slash emissions.
"We saw that businesses are at different stages of transition-maturity and literacy too, meaning there is no one-size-fits-all solution," he added.
"But that cannot be a barrier to meaningful action."
