Australia have taken charge after the first day of the First Test at the Perth Stadium against Pakistan thanks to an opening day century by David Warner. It was only his second test ton in the last three years. Warner, who has played 109 test matches, has announced he will retire from test cricket at the end of this series.
Warner’s 164, which included four sixes, underpinned Australia’s 364-5. The home team, having won the toss, will be looking to push on to make a really commanding total against the inexperienced and occasionally wayward Pakistani attack on the second day.
