Major first for navy workers with UK nuclear sub visit

Australia's navy is getting hands-on experience working with a nuclear submarine. (Colin Murty/AAP PHOTOS)

Australian navy members will be able to carry out work on UK nuclear submarines for the first time on home shores as part of the AUKUS partnership.

British nuclear submarine HMS Anson has arrived at HMAS Stirling in Western Australia, with Australian personnel to help carry out work on the vessel alongside UK and US crews.
