HUNDREDS of children have bounced into the spring school holidays with a visit to Australia's biggest inflatable obstacle course in Stockton.

The 300-metre long course by Tuff Nutterz, has set up in Newcastle for the first time at Griffith Park and will be open for a visit until October 5.

Enjoying what little sunshine there was on Wednesday, October 2, children were seen climbing, jumping, sliding and crawling their way to the finish line through the course and celebrating with a dance with Tuffy the T-Rex dinosaur.

There was a range of activities for families to enjoy, including food and drink vendors and a six-metre tall slide called the Tuff Slide.

"Our inflatables are carefully designed to challenge and test your skills as you navigate through a series of obstacles, including numerous climbing walls, slides, and other exciting features. You'll need to climb, slide, jump, and crawl your way to the finish line, all while having a blast with your family and friends," Tuff Nutterz states on its website.

The inflatable activity is open from 9am to 4.45pm daily until October 5.

If you're looking for another action-packed adventure to take the kids to these school holidays, The Big Battle is running at Avondale School in Cooranbong on October 8 and 9.

The event is designed for kindergarten to year 6 aged children and turns traditional sports upside down. Over two days and nine sessions "tribes" battle it out in a range of sports challenges, including soccer, gridiron, flagball, cricket, hockey and more.

There's also an optional activity called Battle Grounds for kids who want to get messy, including slime slides, coloured powder and water bombs. Active/creative kids vouchers are accepted. Book here.

For those wanting to test the heights, indoor rock climbing is on offer for just $11 at The Rock at Caves Beach.
