Australia’s aged care reforms take effect in November. Here’s what you need to know

Changes to Australia’s aged care system will begin from November, in a move the federal government says will provide a more financially sustainable industry for the decades to come – but that advocates have warned will increase the cost of basic care.

The overhaul will affect how new aged care residents are funded and how much they will have to pay for care in their later years.
