Australia offers help as Los Angeles fires shock stars

Australia has offered help to struggling American fire authorities as they battle worsening, uncontained fires in Los Angeles.

Diplomatic channels had been opened to let the US know Australia was ready to help, despite the blazes occurring during Australia's peak bushfire season, Emergency Management Minister Jenny McAllister said.
