The day that was, Sunday 30 June
Thank you for joining us on this, the final day of the financial year. It’s been a big day for news – here’s what’s been keeping us busy:
WA senator Fatima Payman has been suspended from the Labor caucus after more-or-less daring the prime minister to make the move during her fiery ABC Insiders interview today.
A horrific coach crash in Queensland’s Whitsunday region has claimed the lives of three women and left multiple others with life-threatening injuries.
While PM Anthony Albanese visited a sweets factory – a move that had a touch of the campaign trail about it – the Greens will present a bill for a federal Makarrata commission to parliament, leader Adam Bandt announced.
Women are 14 times more likely die in natural disasters, new research shows.
And it’s going to be another very chilly week ahead, with the possibility of severe frost in parts of the south-east.
Stay warm. See you tomorrow!
