Having already secured a place in the top two of the World Test Championship (WTC) table to defend their title in the WTC final this June against South Africa, Australia's 2-0 series win in Sri Lanka couldn't take them to the top of the chart, as they stayed in second position behind table-toppers Proteas.
With 69.44 percentage points, South Africa stayed number one, while Australia concluded their campaign with 67.54 percentage points. The top two teams at the end of a two-year cycle qualify for the WTC final.
