Australia remain concerned about the potential impact of COVID-19 on their T20 World Cup campaign, despite appearing to dodge a bullet with Matthew Wade.
The wicketkeeper had to isolate after testing positive, but only had mild symptoms and would have played in Friday night's rained-out MCG blockbuster against England.
Adam Zampa had to sit out the Sri Lanka win earlier this week because of his symptoms and also was going to return against England.
Wade was wearing a face mask as he and his teammates warmed up for the game, before it was abandoned.
Just as Australia's wet spring weather has become a major factor in this tournament, national coach Andrew McDonald is worried about COVID-19 potentially doing damage to their title defence.
"That's highly possible, really, the way it's gone," he said.
"The strong point around that was that Matthew Wade was going to play tonight - so each individual is affected differently by the virus.
"Obviously Adam Zampa wasn't quite right ... whereas Matthew Wade responded totally differently, less symptoms and he was ready to go tonight.
"He had to be isolated from the group, that was probably the only (thing). But it's a real possibility for all teams."
With pandemic laws now a thing of the past in Australia, there are minimal COVID-19 rules in place for the tournament - although teams have their own protocols.
A player who tests positive can still play, as was the case with Tahlia McGrath in Australia's Commonwealth Games gold medal match win over India at Edgbaston.
