WATCH: Dinamo Zagreb 0-0 Celtic Champions League Highlights

Celtic and Dinamo Zagreb both went home with a point on Tuesday night, as neither team was able to break the deadlock in a 0-0 draw.

Celtic & Zagreb Play Out Bore Draw

The first half went about how it was expected to go in Zagreb, with neither side creating too many chances as the teams fought out a tense first 45 minutes.

There was more yellow cards than shots on target in the first period with two players from each team booked. Both Dinamo Zagreb and Celtic failed to register a single effort on target between them before half time, in what was a dull first half in terms of chances.

With both clubs in a decent position in the Champions League heading towards the end of the group stage phase, it seemed at half time that both team would be happy enough with a draw.

The second half was unfortunately a very similar story to the first, with the points shared at full time after neither team was able to break the deadlock in 90 minutes.

It wasn’t until the 69th minute that the game saw its first shot on target as Celtic substitute Luke McCowan tested the goalkeeper with a shot down low.

Despite both sides ringing the changes as the game approached its conclusion, neither team was able to fashion any clear-cut chances and both teams looked happy to settle for the point well before full time.

The draw in matchday 6 was actually not a bad result for either team, which could be why fans were treated to such few chances on Tuesday night.

With a point, Celtic move up to 17th in the Champions League standings, putting them five points above the all important bottom 12. With fixtures against Young Boys and Aston Villa still to come, the Scottish side will be confident that they can at least advance to the playoff stage.

Dinamo Zagreb remain just one point behind Celtic after the scoreless draw this week but they still have to face Arsenal and Milan in a tough run in.
