Austin Corbett cleared to practice on Wednesday

The Carolina Panthers have taken one big step towards getting one big presence back.

As announced by the team on Wednesday, right guard Austin Corbett has been cleared to participate in this afternoon’s practice. The 28-year-old hog molly, who had been placed on the reserve/physically unable to perform list at the end of August, missed the first four games of the 2023 campaign.

That lost time is attributed to the torn ACL he sustained in last year’s regular-season finale against the New Orleans Saints. He underwent surgery soon after, which began his long and arduous recovery process.

Being that Corbett’s stay on the reserve/PUP list could be officially ended entering Week 5, head coach Frank Reich was asked about his potential return on Monday.

“Lookin’ forward to seeing him back out on the practice field soon,” he told reporters. “I would anticipate that as soon as he’s ready to get out there and practice with us, he’ll be out there. And we have talked about the timeline to get him on the field for a game, and not ready to talk about that just yet.”

The Panthers will now have 21 days to move Corbett to the active roster.
