Austin Butler Discusses Setting Boundaries For Dune: Part Two Role

Austin Butler recently shared insights into his approach to portraying the character of Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in the upcoming film Dune: Part Two. In a recent interview, Butler discussed how he consciously set boundaries to prevent himself from becoming too immersed in the role, unlike his previous experience playing Elvis Presley in the biopic 'Elvis.'

Having previously dedicated himself entirely to the role of Elvis, Butler realized the toll it took on his personal life and relationships. He made a deliberate decision to establish boundaries while portraying Feyd-Rautha in Dune: Part Two to maintain a healthy balance between his work and personal life.

Butler's portrayal of Feyd-Rautha, a member of the Harkonnen family, introduces a new dynamic to the storyline, as he is tasked with tracking down the protagonist, Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet. The character of Feyd-Rautha is portrayed as a formidable adversary, adding depth to the conflict in the Dune universe.

Director Denis Villeneuve praised Butler's performance, noting his ability to embody the character both on and off-camera. Villeneuve appreciated Butler's dedication to the role while maintaining a healthy distance to ensure the well-being of himself and those around him.

Dune: Part Two is set to hit theaters on March 1, continuing the epic saga that began with Dune: Part One. Fans can expect a compelling narrative as Feyd-Rautha's character adds a new layer of intrigue and tension to the storyline.
