Aussie shares trim losses amid Iran bombing fallout

The Australian share market has fallen for a fifth straight session, but managed to recoup some of its morning losses after Iran failed to immediately retaliate against the US bombing of its nuclear facilities.

The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index fell as many as 84.4 points, or 1.0 per cent, in late morning trading on Monday, but climbed steadily throughout the afternoon to finish down 30.6 points, or 0.36 per cent, at 8,474.9.
