Deer Valley in the US state of Utah holds a special place in the hearts of Australian aerials enthusiasts, and another chapter has now been added to the nation's ski story at the 2002 Olympic venue.
Famed as the site of Alisa Camplin's gold medal from the Salt Lake City Games 22 years ago, Deer Valley on Friday (Saturday AEDT) welcomed two more Australians to the podium.
In front of the biggest crowd of freestyle skiing's World Cup season, Sydneysider Danielle Scott was extremely unlucky not to claim victory in the women's aerials.
Twenty four hours after moguls queen Jakara Anthony's podium run of 10 golds and a bronze came to an end when she crashed out of the moguls event at the same venue, Scott recorded the same score (77.90 points) as local favourite Winter Vinecki.
A tiebreak on their form scores - 10.3 for Vinecki, 10.2 for Scott - left the three-time Olympian with the silver medal on her 18th visit to a World Cup podium.
A further 1.05 points back on 76.86, fellow Australian Abbey Willcox took bronze for her second-ever World Cup medal - four years after her first, which also came at Deer Valley.
"Pretty happy, it has been an absolutely crazy day with extreme weather, a bit of rain and super-soft snow falling," said the 33-year-old Scott.
"It's really hard conditions so to walk away with a podium, (I'm) very happy.
"It's so awesome (to have teammate Willcox on the podium), she has worked so hard and it's well deserved."
Willcox, 27, was thrilled to match her previous best World Cup finish.
"It's been four years in the making, (I'm) so happy to back on the podium," she said.
"It's pretty much an exact repeat of four years ago, it's so incredible to share the podium with Dani as well - two Aussies on the podium is amazing."
With three events of the season remaining, Scott is ranked second on the overall World Cup standings on 200 points, trailing Vinecki by 32 points.
Canada's Marion Thenault is third on 122 points.
Next on the schedule for the aerial skiers is a double World Cup next weekend in Lac-Beauport, Canada.
