Maddison Inglis says there's a shared belief of belonging between Australia's female players after they delivered their best Australian Open performance in 34 years, with six set to feature in the second round.

Qualifier Inglis was the last of the half dozen to book her place, clawing her way to a marathon 7-6 (8-6) 6-7 (9-7) 6-4 win after midnight over fellow Australian Kimberly Birrell.
