Australian veteran Adam Scott fell short in his bid to land the European Tour's flagship BMW PGA Championship after American JJ Spaun claimed a stunning late victory at Wentworth.
Scott started the day two shots off the lead heading into the final round in a five-man group, but 2025 US Open champion Spaun struck form just when it mattered with four birdies in his last five holes to seal a dramatic win on his debut.
It meant the American's final-round 67 saw him finish two shots clear of a group of four players on Sunday, including 46-year-old Scott, Rory McIlroy, Aaron Rai and Manuel Elvira who all tied for second place.
