Australian Ken Sio has carried on where he left off in the Super League - being a "low-maintenance" hero scoring tries for fun for Salford.
The 31-year-old winger, who's signed a new two-year deal with the Red Devils, went over for four tries on Sunday against the league's new French newcomers Toulouse.
Sio, who flew over the whitewash more than 50 times for Parramatta Eels and Newcastle Knights in the NRL, was the Super League's top scorer last season, jetting over for 19 tries in his 19 appearances, three more than anyone else.
And despite a wretched rain-lashed afternoon - "biblical weather," Salford coach Paul Rowley called it - Sio just carried on where he'd left off, taking his tally to five tries in just two games as he inspired the Red Devils to a comfortable 38-12 victory.
"Ken's low maintenance - a player every club would want, and we are very lucky to have him," said Rowley.
Sio has already been catapulted to top of the pile in the 2022 try-scoring race, one ahead of his fellow Australian export Jai Field, who scored a dazzling hat-trick for Wigan on Friday, and Warrington's Josh Charnley.
Sio kicked off with two tries in the first 11 minutes and ended with two more in the last 11 minutes as he proved again what a merciless finisher he can be against the French side playing in their first-ever overseas match in the Super League.
The man from Blacktown, NSW, struck after three minutes, dotting down in the corner from Marc Sneyd's kick and he was also assisted in his second by his fellow Australian, former Brisbane halfback Brodie Croft, who effectively ran the show on a miserable afternoon.
Croft ripped through the Toulouse defence with a 40-metre run before his pass ricocheted off a defender into Sio's predatory path.
Sio was again grateful to Croft after the 24-year-old kicked for the corner, allowing him to latch on for his hat-trick in the 69th minute before he completed his excellent day with a near field-length score after intercepting near his own line.
"To score four tries is a fantastic achievement - he's started this season the way he finished last," said Rowley, as Salford joined champions St Helens, Huddersfield, Wigan and Warrington on a maximum four points after the opening two games.
