A 46-year-old Australian woman says her 72-year-old mother transferred the family's 64-hectare sheep farm in East Gippsland to one of her sons as an early inheritance without telling the other children. Belinda Jane, the eldest of seven siblings, said she discovered the transfer after becoming suspicious of her sister-in-law's behaviour at Christmas 2025.
Jane said she began asking questions and eventually obtained the land title documents, which she said revealed that the farm had been transferred to her brother. The property, which had been held by the family for generations, is estimated to be worth about $1M. 'My mother had basically given her whole inheritance to one of my brothers and had not told us,' she told the Daily Mail.
