Authorities in Aurora, Colorado, have refuted claims of a Venezuelan street gang taking over a rundown apartment complex in the city. The allegations, which gained traction among conservatives and were echoed by former President Donald Trump, were based on an unsubstantiated video showing armed men at the complex.

City officials have clarified that the deteriorated state of the buildings was due to neglect by the property manager, CBZ Management, rather than gang control.
