Aurelien Tchouameni has made his final decision over a transfer this summer. It comes amid links with a move to Chelsea, as the Blues reportedly held previous interest.
It comes ahead of a huge few months for the club, who have key decisions to make over the upcoming transfer window. Thomas Tuchel is tasked with rebuilding his squad, following the loss of a number of key individuals.
Discussing the challenges ahead, the German coach said: “We are rebuilding, not improving the squad. We are rebuilding. This is always challenging but we are up for the challenge.”

While the defence is likely to be a position of reconstruction, the midfield may also be an area that Tuchel looks to. Central duo N’Golo Kante and Jorginho only have one-year remaining on their current deals, leaving the Blues potentially vulnerable to losing both.
A number of options have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, from Declan Rice to Aurelien Tchouameni. While both have been reported long-term targets, it appears that Chelsea have missed out on the latter.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are set to land the Frenchman in a €100million (£85million) deal. It means that they have missed out on landing the 22-year-old, along with rivals Liverpool.
For Tuchel, he will now have to turn his attention to other targets in the transfer market.
