The August bank holiday weekend is fast approaching which will bring a number of changes to opening hours across most businesses.
Whatever your plans are, whether its a family BBQ or a few drinks with friends, it's likely that you will need to make a trip to the supermarket.
Before you get caught out, you should check if there is a change to the opening hours of your local shop this weekend.
For many supermarkets, location plays a role in whether or not they close early across the weekend. Some places will simply operate Sunday hours on the bank holiday Monday while others will have complete changes.
So here's the opening times for Irish supermarkets on the August bank holiday:
Tesco
Tesco opening hours change depending on each individual store. Usually, bank holiday hours are the same as an average Monday.
For example, Tesco, in Phibsborough, Co Dublin opens from 8am- 10pm on Saturday, 9am - 9pm on Sunday and 9am - 8pm on Bank Holiday Monday.

Aldi stores usually operate Sunday hours from 9am-9pm on the August bank holiday Monday.
While this can vary from store to store, customers can check Aldi's store finder for the most up-to-date info on their local store.
Lidl
Lidl operates with opening hours of 9am to 9pm on bank holidays.
