Aughnacloy cafe ransacked by intruder who stole till containing cash

A cafe in Northern Ireland was ransacked by an intruder who stole the till containing cash.

The business in the Moore Street area of Aughnacloy, Co Tyrone, was targeted in the early hours of Saturday, April 8, when the intruder forced entry and stole cash and other items.

Two other businesses were also targeted on the same road and a small sum of cash was taken from one of the businesses.

A PSNI spokeswoman said: "Police are investigating a burglary at a cafe in the Moore Street area of Aughnacloy.

"At around 6am on Saturday 8th April, it was reported that entry had been forced to the premises overnight. The premises were ransacked by the intruder and a till containing cash was stolen and other items taken.

"Reports were also made of break-ins to two other commercial sites in the Moore Street area. A small sum of cash was taken from one of the businesses.

"Anyone with information regarding these crimes or has noticed a grey car in the area anytime between 12.30am and 6am on Saturday can contact police by calling 101, quoting reference 378 08/04/23."
