Aubrey Plaza's stylist has jumped to the defence of the actress’s revealing SAG Awards outfit.
The 38-year-old star grabbed headlines when she rocked up to the Screen Actors Guild Awards in a daring gold gown on Sunday night.
The Michael Kors dress featured a huge cut out at the front which revealed her toned midriff and criss-cross halter neckline.
The White Lotus actress’ extraordinary frock was complete with sultry thigh-high slit and while Aubrey looked sensational, her attire wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea.
The Parks and Recreations star received mixed responses to her risqué outfit online, and now her stylist has come to her defence after the ensemble was posted by a fashion blogger.
Stylist Jessica Paster jumped to defend the outfit in the comment section.
One user claimed: “the straps could be better adjusted,” while another added: “The straps look too tight that’s all.”
A third user wrote: “The colour and shimmer is gorgeous but the very large cut out design looks awkward, unflattering and a bit try-hard.”
But, fashionista Jessica insisted the look was exactly how she’d envisioned it, replying: “Did 7 fittings .. for real ... I wanted underboob.”
The stylist’s comments came after Aubrey’s disgruntled appearance on stage sparked a mountain of speculation on social media.
She looked annoyed in front of cameras on Sunday evening as she and her White Lotus co-stars collected their award for Best Ensemble in a Drama Series, but an insider has revealed it was down to panic over a potential wardrobe mishap, and nearly getting elbowed in the face.
The actor, who wore a shimmering dress with straps crossing her chest, appeared startled and then adjusted her risqué top after co-star Jon Cries whispered in her ear.
Then after veteran actor F. Murray Abraham finished his speech, Aubrey was seen mouthing "Jesus Christ" under her breath and didn't look impressed, as co-star Meghann Fahy hugged Michael Imperioli.
A source told DailyMail.com : "First, she was told that her boob was hanging out which would cause any woman to be uncomfortable.
"Then she was almost elbowed in the face and her reaction was a direct result of that."
The clip which has since been shared on social media saw fans queuing up to comment on her obvious frustrations — despite having won the award.
One person wrote on Twitter : "What was she annoyed about?"
A third penned: "She looked like she haaaaated being up there and immediately ran off stage while everyone in the cast was congratulating and hugging each other."
Another added she 'seemed REALLY p**sed off' and her quick exit was also commented upon.
