AU Small Finance Bank vehicle loan portfolio crosses Rs 50,000-crore mark

New Delhi: AU Small Finance Bank, which has received RBI's in-principle approval to transition into a universal bank, on Wednesday said its vehicle loan portfolio crossed the milestone of Rs 50,000 crore in Assets Under Management (AUM).

The portfolio surpassed the milestone in August 2026, with the vehicle loan business registering a three-year CAGR of 26 per cent and a five-year CAGR of 29 per cent, the bank said in a statement.

The franchise remains AU SFB's largest lending business and accounts for nearly one-third of the bank's overall loan portfolio. It serves more than 13.7 lakh customers across the country.

As of August 2026, the portfolio comprised Rs 30,752 crore in new vehicle finance, Rs 17,966 crore in pre-owned vehicle finance and Rs 1,767 crore in two-wheeler finance, it said.

The business, which began in 1996 in Rajasthan with a focus on self-employed entrepreneurs and transport operators, has expanded its presence across urban, semi-urban and rural markets, it said.

AU SFB has more than 3,000 service touchpoints, and its wheels franchise is serviceable across nearly 2,000 locations, it said.

The lender has also been integrating analytics, automation and AI-led capabilities across its lending operations as part of its digital transformation initiatives.

"Crossing Rs 50,000 crore AUM in our wheels business is a deeply meaningful milestone because it represents the foundation on which AU was built nearly three decades ago. What started with a simple belief in supporting hardworking entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals has today grown into a franchise trusted by over 13 lakh customers across India," AU SFB Founder, MD and CEO Sanjay Agarwal said.

He further said, the wheels franchise will remain a key growth engine as AU SFB moves towards its transition into a universal bank.
