An attorney representing the murder suspect of UnitedHealthcare CEO, Luigi Mangione, has stated that his client will not plead guilty to charges in New York. Mangione is currently facing serious charges in New York, including murder in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, and criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree in connection with the killing, as per a warrant.
The attorney, Tom Dickey, who recently took on Mangione's case, emphasized that his client will be pleading not guilty to the charges. Dickey mentioned that Mangione had not received legal representation until he got involved in the case. He firmly stated that Mangione will maintain his plea of not guilty.
Furthermore, Mangione is also facing unrelated charges in Pennsylvania, to which he will also plead not guilty, as confirmed by his attorney in a previous statement. During a court appearance in Pennsylvania on Monday, Mangione was denied bail.
The case involving the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson has garnered significant attention due to the severity of the charges against Mangione. The legal proceedings in both New York and Pennsylvania are expected to unfold as the case progresses.
