Attempted theft leaves Clifton Suspension Bridge with £3,500 worth of damage

Around £3,500 worth of damage was caused to the Clifton Suspension Bridge after crooks attempted to steal items there. Avon and Somerset Police said the incident occurred at a storage building at the bridge between 3.45am and 4am on July 30.

Although the offenders were disturbed before they were able to steal anything, the expensive damage was reported to police. Investigating officers are now appealing for help to identify two men in relation to the incident.

A statement from the force said: "CCTV enquiries have been conducted and show two men we want to talk to as part of our investigation. The pair are pictured in black clothing, and both are described as white and in their late-teens or early-20s.
