Attempted murder probe in Larkhall as man has unknown substance thrown in his face on doorstep

A 67-year-old man is in serious condition in hospital after he had an unknown substance thrown in his face on his doorstep in Larkhall.

The incident took place around 11.25pm on Friday (February 11) when the man opened his door at his home in Machanhill to two men who then attacked him and threw the substance in his face.

The two men ran off in the direction of Field Road and were last seen walking on Hareleeshill Road towards John Street.
