Attempted murder bid in Glasgow as police hunt three hooded men

A man has been seriously injured after an attempted murder bid in Glasgow.

The ' disturbance ' took place at around 10pm on Tuesday, July 5, when three men entered a property on Gartcraig Road.

A 39-year-old male was then victim to a vicious assault in which he suffered serious injuries.

He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in the city where he remains.

His condition is not yet known.

Officers have confirmed that the incident is being treated as attempted murder.

They have launched an investigation and are now hunting three hooded men as part of their ongoing enquiries.

The suspects are described as white and are believed to have worn hooded clothing at the time of the attack.

Two of the suspects were also wearing face coverings.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have any information on the event as a matter of urgency.

Detective Inspector Ross Jamieson of Shettleston CID said: “A man has been seriously injured in what we believe to be a targeted attack.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the Gartcraig Road area around the time of the incident to get in touch with officers as soon as possible.

“If you noticed the three men in the street, or any other small piece of information that could prove relevant to our enquiries, I would urge you contact police.

“I would also ask motorists who were driving in the area around that time to check their footage as it may have captured images which could help us in locating the men responsible for this attack.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3402 of 5 July 2022. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and give your information anonymously.
