Attacking change, Spence decision made - Tottenham lineups Antonio Conte should pick vs Roma

Antonio Conte's Tottenham team face yet another tricky test as their pre-season campaign comes to a close against Roma on Saturday evening. Unbeaten in their three summer games so far, Spurs will be looking to carry on their good form ahead of next weekend's Premier League opener at home to Southampton.

Although the second half of the pre-season match against Team K League did have a bit of a testimonial feel to it, the Lilywhites have been tested in their pre-season games so far. There was certainly nothing friendly about the 1-1 draw against Sevilla, with Spurs then coming up against a side in Rangers who were one week ahead of them in their preparations.

Saturday's showdown against Roma in Israel promises to be very similar to the past two fixtures, especially with Jose Mourinho in charge of the Giallorossi. So who exactly will Conte name in his Tottenham XI with just a week to go until the new season begins? Our Tottenham Hotspur reporters have named the side they would like to see the Italian select.

Conte has Ben Davies back as an option but following his ankle injury the chances are that he might be eased back in from the bench. Either Davinson Sanchez or Clement Lenglet will be given the nod if Conte decides the Welshman isn't ready to start again yet.

The Spurs head coach will otherwise want to pick a team as close the one that he wants to start against Southampton next weekend in the Premier League opener. He wants that starting XI to have the maximum fitness and rhythm of playing together.

The main choices come in the centre of the pitch and at right wing-back, where Djed Spence, Matt Doherty, Emerson Royal and Lucas Moura are all vying to start. On the left, Ivan Perisic may still be finding his way back to fitness which might give Ryan Sessegnon another start.

Gold's team: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Lenglet; Spence, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Sessegnon; Kulusevski, Kane, Son.

Antonio Conte is likely to put out a very strong side against Roma just as he did last weekend away at Rangers. However, he could make a couple of alterations here and there to give his new signings the minutes they require.

Five of the six new arrivals only made their debut for the club last weekend, meaning Clement Lenglet, Djed Spence, Yves Bissouma and Ivan Perisic should all be giving a go from the start as they need to play. Matt Doherty also needs pitch time after not playing last weekend but he will have to settle for minutes from the bench with Spence in at right wing-back.

In attack, Richarlison ideally needs to be starting as he is not available next weekend due to his suspension. Starting on the right to begin with, he should then be moved centrally when it's time for Harry Kane to come off.

Guest's team: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Lenglet; Spence, Bissouma, Bentancur, Perisic; Richarlison, Kane, Son
