Attacker remains at large a month after Woolwich attack, as victim still fights for life

Police are still hunting a man who carried out a violent attack in south-east London a month ago - as the victim remains in a critical condition in hospital.

The 35-year-old victim was attacked around 3.25am on Sunday, March 17, near a bus stop outside Woolwich Library in Wellington Street, Woolwich.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene and the man was taken to hospital, where he remains “in a critical condition receiving treatment”, said police.

The Met police on Tuesday launched a public appeal for help tracing the attacker.

The suspect is described as a Black man, around 5ft 10” tall, and was wearing dark clothing at the time of the assault.
