Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo insists the club already have a "wonderful squad" amid rumours linking them with Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Manchester United forward, 37, reportedly wants to leave Old Trafford to play Champions League football. The Red Devils will compete in the Europa League under Erik ten Hag this coming season after finishing sixth in the Premier League last term.
Ten Hag, who started work as United manager in May, has confirmed Ronaldo is part of his plans for the new campaign. The Portugal skipper has missed the club's pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia and is currently training on his own with his future in doubt.
Cerezo was recently asked about the Ronaldo rumours during a club meal at a restaurant in Madrid. "You have to ask me more difficult questions," came the administrator's reply, as quoted by GOAL. "To easy questions, simple answers. It is considered answered."
Cerezo, who was elected Atletico's president in May 2003, went on to say: "We are here for dinner, an early season dinner, with a wonderful squad, sensational players and a fantastic manager. We have everything, what more can we ask for?"
Atletico could do with Ronaldo's goals after a poor campaign. Diego Simeone's side failed to win a trophy last season, finishing third in La Liga - 15 points behind champions Real Madrid. They were knocked out of the Champions League in the quarter-finals.

In terms of goals, their joint-highest scorers were Angel Correa and Luis Suarez with 13 goals each. Just three players - including Joao Felix - managed to break the 10-goal barrier. Ronaldo, meanwhile, found the back of the net 24 times for United last term.
Yet a move to Atletico would be problematic. Ronaldo is a legend at local rivals Real, scoring a record 450 goals in just 438 games between 2009 and 2018. Real won plenty of trophies during that time, including four Champions Leagues and two La Liga titles.
Ronaldo would also leave United in the lurch if he quits the club. "We are planning with Cristiano Ronaldo for this season," insisted Ten Hag earlier this month. "That is it. I am looking forward to working with him. Cristiano is not for sale. He is in our plans."
Bayern Munich, Real, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are among the clubs to have vetoed a move for Ronaldo, who has one year left on his contract. "I have a lot of respect for Cristiano Ronaldo, his successes and his career," said Bayern's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic earlier this month. "But once again, that was and is not a topic for us."
Bayern's CEO Oliver Khan added: "I love Cristiano Ronaldo, [he's a] fantastic player but every club has a philosophy and I'm not sure if it would be the right signal for Bayern and Bundesliga if we signed him now. Such a move does not necessarily fit with our ideas."
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, meanwhile, has told reporters: "I would not rule out signing another striker, but it’s not our priority. The priority right now is our defence, it’s not a secret. We lost top players and so now we need to replace them."
