Atlanta Motor Speedway has once again opened its campgrounds to provide shelter for evacuees fleeing Hurricane Milton, which is expected to impact Florida. The executive vice president and general manager of AMS, Brandon Hutchison, expressed the speedway's willingness to assist those in need by offering its vast campgrounds as a safe haven.
Situated just 30 miles south of Atlanta in Hampton, Georgia, the speedway is welcoming evacuees with RVs and tents, providing access to shower facilities to ensure their comfort during their stay. In collaboration with the Henry County Emergency Management Agency, AMS is offering dry camping free of charge at its Legends Premium Campground for RVs and Legends Tent Campground for pop-up campers and tents.
Evacuees taking refuge at these campgrounds will also have complimentary access to nearby showers, further enhancing their experience while staying at the speedway. This initiative is part of AMS's ongoing efforts to support communities during times of crisis, having previously hosted evacuees from hurricanes such as Irma, Florence, and Hurricane Idalia last year.
By opening its doors to those affected by Hurricane Milton, Atlanta Motor Speedway once again demonstrates its commitment to providing assistance and support to individuals in need. The speedway's gesture serves as a beacon of hope for evacuees seeking refuge and safety during this challenging time.
