NEW DELHI: The stakeholders of Mohun Bagan, a prominent football club based in Kolkata, have announced that they will be removing the prefix ATK from the club's name. This decision comes in response to the persistent demands from the club's fans.
The club, principally owned by the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group, will now be known as Mohun Bagan Super Giant. This naming pattern follows the conglomerate's approach to naming their sports teams, as seen with their IPL franchise, Lucknow Super Giants, and their previous IPL team, Pune Supergiants.
