WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden on Wednesday sought to reframe his presidency as one “of challenges but also enormous progress,” even as he acknowledged voters were disheartened in the face of the persistent and deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
“For all this progress, I know there’s a lot of frustration and fatigue in this country,” Biden said during a news conference marking his first year in office. “But while it’s cause for concern, it’s not cause for panic.”
“It’s not going to go away immediately,” he added. “But I’m not going to give up and accept things as they are now.”
