At-Home Skyrizi Induction Approved for Crohn's After 56% Reached Clinical Remission at 12 Weeks Versus 30% on Placebo

Adults with moderately to severely active Crohn's disease can now start Skyrizi at home instead of receiving IV infusions. The FDA approved an induction regimen given under the skin with an on-body injector, AbbVie announced October 23.

The approval was based on the AFFIRM trial, in which 56% of patients on the at-home regimen reached clinical remission at week 12, compared with 30% on placebo, according to AbbVie's announcement of the approval. Endoscopic response, a measure of reduced inflammation seen in the bowel, was 43% versus 15%.
