When the Goa Athletics Association (GAA) officials did a recce of the stadium for its fast-approaching state championship, they found several problem areas at the ‘athletics stadium’.
The synthetic turf, for one, was poorly maintained and posed a risk to the participating athletes. The organisers also wondered where the aluminium inner track border had disappeared to, while the four sets of hurdles that were procured for the Lusofonia Games were also nowhere to be found.
