Asus ROG Ally pre-order: price and where to buy the Steam Deck rival including Currys

After the recent launch event, we now know the Asus ROG Ally price, release date and where you can buy the device.

In the major launch event live stream, Asus confirmed everything we were waiting to find out about the Asus ROG Ally including the price, release date and where you'll be able to pick up the device. It was revealed that the Asus ROG Ally (Z1 Extreme) will retail for £699 / $699, which roughly converts to AU$1038, but keep in mind that regional pricing is rarely a straight conversation. As for the standard Z1 version, it's slightly cheaper at £599 / $599.

The Asus ROG Ally (Z1 Extreme) will be released on June 13, 2023, so won't have to wait too long before getting your hands on it. In the meantime, it's available to pre-order now. There's no set release date for the standard Z1 version, with Asus saying it'll be released sometime in Q3, 2023.

After getting my hands on the device and covering my first impressions over on the Mirror Gaming YouTube channel, I'm glad to say I currently stand by my original five reasons that convinced me to buy the Asus ROG Ally over the Steam Deck. You can also take a look at my full teardown of the Asus ROG Ally vs Steam Deck. If you're more of a Nintendo fan then you can also have a gander of our Asus ROG Ally vs Nintendo Switch comparison.

Asus ROG Ally pre-order: where to buy

Right now you can pre-order the Z1 Extreme version of the device worldwide straight from the Asus ROG website, you can also pick up the device at other retailers in certain regions. This means you can take advantage of services such as collection, or buy now, pay later at Currys or Best Buy.

So far, Asus has stated that the Z1 Extreme version of the device will be made available for sale on June 13, 2023, as well as pre-orders shipping out, which hopefully indicates that this device won't be facing the same stock issues we have seen so far from major releases over the past few years. The Steam Deck was notoriously difficult to get your hands on even up until January this year, so fingers crossed the Asus ROG Ally doesn't suffer the same fate.
