Houston Astros reliever Kendall Graveman will unfortunately be sidelined for the entire 2024 season due to a recently performed surgery on his right shoulder, as announced by Astros general manager Dana Brown on Tuesday. The surgery took place last week and marks a setback for the talented pitcher.
Graveman, who was acquired in a trade with the Chicago White Sox last July, had an impressive showing with the Astros, recording a stellar 2.42 ERA in 23 appearances. However, the 33-year-old experienced discomfort in his right shoulder which prevented him from participating in the playoffs. Despite undergoing rest and rehabilitation during the offseason, the discomfort persisted when he resumed throwing off flat ground to prepare for spring training.
