Astounding Henrik Larsson revelation proves Europa League Final TV jinx for Jose Mourinho and Roma

A stat surrounding Henrik Larsson left former Real Madrid and Liverpool standout Steve McManaman stunned during BT Sports' live broadcast...minutes before it was broken.

Commentator Ian Darke dropped a proper trivia bomb by revealing to the audience the Celtic icon was the last man to net against Jose Mourinho in a European Final moments before Mancini's own goal for Budapest. The Special One had kept four clean sheets in major Finals since the Super Swede scored a brace in Seville as Martin O'Neill's men lost out to a Porto side who would win the Champions League 12 months later.

The fact left McManaman dumbfounded as he recalled Larsson's magic during his pomp but the commentary duo quickly joked after Sevilla netted their stat was consigned to the bin in a thrilling encounter which sees the winner seal an automatic Champions League place next season with both on the outside looking in domestically.

The Parkhead icon proved a dab hand in the biggest moments and followed up his UEFA Cup Final heroics by setting up two goals for Barcelona in their Champions League Final triumph against Arsenal in 2006.

Larsson was named by Thierry Henry as the difference between the teams after his impact in Paris.
